Blogs Doing Better Than Social Networks In Influencing Purchase [Research Report Review]

However, basing on the latest Digital Influence Report conducted by Technorati Media, it is a surprise to note that blogs outrank Social Network in influencing the purchase. Shock?

Of course, Social Networks (especially Facebook, Youtube and Twitter) are fairing quite well in other aspects of the equation too. Following are some the key highlights of the report.

1. Facebook continue to top the Social reach by brands:
91% of brands surveyed mentioned that they have Social Presence in Facebook, followed up Twitter (85%) and Youtube (73%). With more than 1 billion users in Facebook, I thought the option is rather obvious! ;-)

2. Brands will continue to spend most of their advertising money on Display Ads:
Digital advertising dollars will keep increasing and majority of them will continue to be spent in the Displaying Ads (think of Google's Adwords and equivalent). For the Social Ads spending, more than half (57%0 will be spent on Facebook.

3. Small is the new big:
54% of the consumers surveyed agreed that "the smaller the community, the greater the influence". So, as far as online is concern, size doesn't matter (to certain extend).

4. Facebook is the most trusted social network for brands:
So far, brands are place most of their trust on the news sites. However, when comes to Social Networks, Facebook is the top choice, again.

5. Blogs is more influential than social networks for purchase:
By far, this is the most surprising findings. Blogs outshine all Social Networks to become the most influential social media when comes to purchase.
